This week we talked about how to deal with divorce in your life, whether it is a family member, a friend, or even yourself. It is important to know how to protect your marriage from divorce by being aware of the signs of tension within a marriage and how to deal with it, making dating a priority, cleaving unto your spouse in all things, and never using the word "divorce" in your home.
On Wednesday, Sister Williams came to class so that she and Brother Williams could tell their love story, and how divorce affected it. Sister Williams was divorced and had two young children when she and Brother Williams started dating shortly after his mission. Forming a step family is a tough decision and even though they clearly showed how beautiful the situation had worked out for them, they were sure to share with us the challenges and hardships that they went through in making their decision. Because Sister Williams children were so young at the time of their marriage, they had an easy time adjusting to the new family situation. Brother Williams felt inspired to share with us a song that his son shared with him. This song expresses the impact that Sister Williams children felt from having Brother Williams in their lives. It is such a sweet and special experience when you realize how much of an impact for good you have had upon an individual.
It is wonderful the ways in which the Lord brings things together to work out for the best.
